Saturday: PCIJ 25th Anniversary
Uncovering Asia is proud to honor the 25th year of our local host, the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism. Join us Saturday evening, November 22, as the conference starts with a grand welcoming reception that commemorates PCIJ’s extraordinary quarter-center of groundbreaking investigative reports. There will be traditional Philippine drinks and dancing, plus great networking with colleagues from 20 countries. Details soon!
Sunday: International Day to End Impunity
Uncovering Asia will join with members of a companion conference, Journalism Asia, on Sunday evening, November 23, for a special event marking the UN-designated International Day to End Impunity. Attendees are invited to a candle-light march from the conference hotel to nearby Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA), site of the 1986 People Power Revolt. The group will honor the hundreds of slain journalists in Asia and worldwide whose cases are still awaiting justice.
Monday: Farewell Cocktails
We finish Asia’s first investigative journalism conference on Monday evening, November 24, with a final round of refreshments and networking at the hotel bar, courtesy of GIJN and PCIJ. Come share a drink with your colleagues from around the world, expand your network, and brainstorm about new stories. Here’s one more chance to exchange business cards and think about a great new investigative project.
